Femuscle.org
is a free, not-for-profit website dedicated to female bodybuilders,
fitness, and figure athletes. The website is "kid safe".
That means there are no nude images because young teen athletes
visit from time to time. You will however find lots of images of
female bodybuilders, powerlifters, fitness, and figure athletes,
both in competition and in one-on-one photo shoots. Additionally,
you will find some really nice contributions from professional photo
journalist Bill Dobbins, and from C-P's Worldofmuscle.com. Future
additions to the website will include photo submissions, calendars
of events, and I even have plans for bulletin boards and a chat
room....but that will be a while in the making. I would like to
take this opportunity to thank the athletes, and all the folks who
helped make this website possible. Tell your friends, and don't
forget to check back from time to time for updates. We appreciate
any comments, just click on the Webmaster link below. One last thing...There
are many wonderful websites by some folks who are working hard to
promote the sport , so before you leave, check out our great links
page. I hope you enjoy your stay, and thank you for visiting femuscle.org.
Sincerely,
On February 25th 2004 my beautiful and loving wife
of 28 years was diagnosed with breast cancer. We are both devastated.
But we are hopeful that God is on our side on this one. Nothing
is more important to me than my family's health...no photo shoot
or female bodybuilding event...I repeat NOTHING is more important.
I'm sure you all feel the same. Therefore, I have included links
throughout this website in a effort to spread the word about this
devastatingly brutal disease.

Update - My wife Arlene came through her first of 2 surgeries fine.
She's strong willed and determined to beat this thing. She wanted
me to thank you all for your e-mails, cards, and good thoughts.
She also wanted me to get this message out to all the women visiting
this site:
Do NOT be lulled into a sense
of complacency because you just had a mammogram. She had a mammogram
that was negative....but she found a lump a few short months later.
The bottom line, a mammogram is only as good as the last one you
had. The only way to be sure with mammograms is to have one EVERY
MONTH! We know that's not practical and the insurance
companies probably won't cover it...at least our insurance company
thought I was nuts when I suggested it. Ladies, I can't stress the
importance of checking yourself EVERY DAY
OF YOUR LIFE TO BE SAFE!

We lost Kenny Kassel in 2008. Kenny
was first...A GREAT FRIEND to me, an IFBB and NPC Judge,
owner of Beauti-Fit Talent Agency, and long time supporter of female
bodybuilders, fitness, and figure athletes and this sport in general.
His will be sorely missed by many and will always remain close in
our hearts. Kenny wrote an article especially for femuscle.org in
an effort to help aspiring entries into the modeling and entertainment
business:
You
train, you diet and you dream about winning. You know you're working
harder than anyone you'll compete against, but then it happens again....you
wake up on contest day and you're flatter and smoother than you've
been in weeks. The next day you look great, but it's too late. Sodium,
potassium, water, carbs....where did it go wrong?
What many think
is "standard" contest peaking information or methodology
is sometimes the worst thing you can do. We're all different genetically
and metabolically and a one-size-fits-all approach may ruin months
of hard work overnight. Understanding the complex physiology in
play, being able to recognize critical changes in your body and
knowing how to adjust to peak perfection is pretty tough for most
competitors. Luckily, it's not for Dr. Joe.
Joe's unique
online consulting program allows him to work closely with clients
right up to the morning of the contest. In the last 6 years, Dr.
Joe "the diet doc" has helped over 50 figure and bodybuilding
competitors win pro cards and his professional clients have won
more than 10 titiles including several world championships.
I was drug to church on Sunday morning.
I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
I was drug to family reunions no matter the weather.
I was drug to the bus stop to go to school everyday.
I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults and teachers.
I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents.
Those drugs are still in my veins, and they affect my behavior in
everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine,
crack,
or heroin, and if today's children had this kind of drug problem,
America might be a better place.
"The men compete as professionals
should and are rewarded accordingly: money, prestige, endorsements
and sponsorship opportunities that affirm their participation
in sport and contribute substantially to maintaining their athletic
careers; the incentives for women boil down to competing for the
true love of the sport and the pure joy of athletic competition.
The result is that the men demand respect and are compensated
for their efforts, while the women are expected to be grateful
that theyve even been allowed to participate.
Simply put, female
bodybuilders want to be treated as equals, compete on par with the
other athletes and be financially rewarded for their efforts so
that they can also reach their full potential. Although change is
possible, the difficult part is finding a way to work within the
system to make these goals into realistic options. The only way
that this will happen is through a combined individual effort of
those willing to work together to produce real and lasting results
that will benefit the group as a whole."
